Including how to call Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Surat, Pune and Jaipur.

India uses the country code +91.

To telephone India from the United Kingdom you need to dial:

0091
then the full national number minus any leading 0

Example

Indian number: 0751 3200000
Dialled from the UK as: 00 91 751 3200000

Phone numbers beginning +91

Sometimes, the telephone number you want to call may already be written out including the +91 country code. For example:

  • +91 751 3200000
  • +91 (0)751 3200000

In such cases, you just replace the '+' with the UK international access code of 00 and ignore any reference to '(0)'. Both the examples above would be dialled as: 00 91 751 3200000.
